I keep meaning to post and forgetting.

Am ill, better than I was yesterday/this morning but work this morning was not fun! Luckily this afternoon was our Christmas lunch at a place by our flat and I was home by 2:45 and straight to bed! Woke up just before 9 feeling much better.

Mum called and I don't think I've mentioned it but our dog Timba hasn't been doing well in the last few months. Basically he has a very pronounced limp and he's had physio, a TENS machine, MRIs (I think I mean MRIs!), a bone biopsy and finally today, tests on his nerves.

All through it he's been so good and he's currently not in any pain so that's good.

Anyway, the major nerve in his leg has died. They think possibily due to a tumour however it's so small none of the scans are picking it up so the options were:

a) Do nothing.
b) Surgery - Tumour found and leg amputated.
c) Surgery - Nothing found.

Mum and Trevor have decided that a is the best option which I agree with. Timba is a big dog and he wouldn't be able to cope without his leg, not at his age, he just wouldn't be able to adapt and if we don't feel b is an option, there really is no point to surgery at all.

The vet agreed that just because surgery was possible didn't make it the right idea and has given Mum some new pain meds for him if and when he needs them. Although the decision has obviously been made that we won't let him suffer.

Although it's all stuff we assumed I still feel so sad at the thought of him leaving us. I'm looking forward to getting home Christmas Eve and giving him a big hug.

So yes, that was my day!
