Save Guiding Light

I'm not usually a fan of such campaigns but in this case, I find it hard to believe 72 years of history can so suddenly be gone.

As The World Turns fans take note, once Guiding Light is gone ATWT will be bottom of the pack and currently the genre is losing a soap a year. The fact that, like GL, it's a P&G soap makes it position all the more precarious.

Both soaps could find a home on SoapNet which would be the best place for them, because CBS does not give a damn about any soaps but Y&R and B&B and even that is pushing it!

Martha Byrne leaving As The World Turns

I'm genuinely shocked. I can't imagine ATWT without her, she's amazing. I'm also amazed that they think they can recast though.

In soaps I'm aware that a lot of times recasts work but Lily? She's been with the show since 1985 (with a 4 year break) and it's just incredibly frustrating how little shows are willing to do to keep their female stars I thought it was just GH but apparently not.

edit and Ricky Paull Goldin is leaving Guiding Light! WTH?!?!

edit and ATWT have recast the role of Mike. For gods sake why?! He was so tediously dull by the end. *headesk*
